Clarity for the mind you live in

Many young people experience anxiety, overthinking and exam pressure, yet few are ever given a clear explanation of why their mind and body react the way they do. Settled Minds was created to provide that understanding.

It is a therapist-informed psychoeducation programme designed to help young people make sense of common internal experiences such as anxiety, rumination and stress. Through short, conversational audio episodes, students learn how their brain and nervous system respond to pressure, uncertainty and social challenges. The aim is not to “fix” young people, but to help them understand that many of these responses are protective systems at work, rather than signs that something is wrong.

The programme is structured into three modules; Anxiety, Overthinking and Exam Stress. Each containing four short audio episodes designed to be clear, relatable and developmentally appropriate for secondary-aged students.

Settled Minds can be used flexibly within school environments: as part of classroom wellbeing lessons, guidance sessions, pastoral support, or individual listening by pupils, both in school and at home. The programme supports a whole-school approach to emotional wellbeing and aligns with national guidance on early intervention and mental health education.

By helping young people understand the mind they live in, Settled Minds aims to reduce shame, increase self-awareness, and support students to navigate pressure with greater steadiness and confidence.

Our Approach

Settled Minds is a structured, digital psychoeducation resource designed for secondary school students. Through short, conversational audio sessions, students explore common experiences such as anxiety, overthinking and exam stress in a way that is clear, relatable and developmentally appropriate.

Each session explains what is happening in the brain and nervous system, why these reactions occur, and how young people can begin to respond to them with greater understanding and confidence. Rather than focusing only on coping techniques, the programme helps students build a basic framework for understanding their internal experiences.

The sessions can be used within classrooms, guidance settings or individually by students, making the resource flexible for both school environments and private listening.

Settled Minds does not aim to pathologize normal emotional responses, nor is it a crisis service or replacement for therapy. Instead, it provides early intervention through understanding, helping young people develop emotional literacy, reduce self-blame and relate to their experiences with greater clarity and resilience.

For Schools

Settled Minds has been designed to fit easily within secondary school environments. The programme can be used during wellbeing lessons, within guidance or pastoral spaces, or accessed independently by students using a secure school login.

With minimal preparation required from staff, the audio sessions provide a simple way for schools to introduce conversations around anxiety, overthinking and exam pressure in a calm, structured format. By giving students language and understanding around their internal experiences, schools can strengthen early wellbeing support while helping reduce stigma and encourage help-seeking when needed.
